Michelle Crowell seeking fourth term as county Auditor

Michelle Crowell has announced she will again seek the Democratic nomination to for Clinton County Auditor in the May 16 primary election. Crowell is seeking a fourth term as county auditor after being elected to the seat in 2011 and re-elected in 2015 and 2019.

Crowell said, “I am asking Clinton County to allow me to serve another term as County Auditor. In the last 12 years I have gained so much knowledge through attending trainings provided by our state association and I feel that I can provide insight and training for fellow auditors in our county. Having worked on all accounts across the county over the last decade, I can confidently say that our county is complying with all state and county regulations and always seeking out more efficient ways to conduct business. I’m proud to be part of our local government and would love the opportunity to continue to serve.”

Michelle is a member of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Auditors where she served on the budget committee in 2014, was elected to their Executive Board in 2017, served as vice president in 2018 and President in both 2019 and 2020.

The PSACA includes 28 counties across Pennsylvania and 84 members. Their mission is to advance the professional development of their members by providing continuing education, training and technical resources and for such further purposes helpful to the greater efficiency for the function of the office of County Auditor.

In addition to serving the county, Michelle works part-time at Therapeutic Health Care Center. She has served on the board of Millbrook Playhouse since 2012 and Downtown Lock Haven Inc since 2020.

In 2012, she was honored as Outstanding Elected Woman of the Year, representing Region 10, by the Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women.

A life-long Clinton County resident, she is a 1996 graduate of Lock Haven High School and attended Lock Haven University. Michelle resides in Lock Haven with her husband of 19 years, Bill Crowell, and daughter Maia, age 16. She is the daughter of Pat and Carol Leone of Lock Haven.
