Maris, McGill speak at Clinton County Dems HQ grand opening

Clinton County voters had a chance to hear from and talk with two local candidates running for state office at the Clinton County Democratic Committee’s headquarters grand opening on August 17.

Denise Maris, running for PA 76th District State Representative, spoke about improving access to affordable healthcare and veteran services. William “Bill” McGill, running for the PA 25th District Senate seat, focused his remarks on voter protections and rights.

Zach Womer, candidate for PA 15th Congressional District, was not able to make the event; however Clinton County Democratic Committee Chair Bre Brannan said he is a Penn State Law Student who is very knowledgeable, approachable, and eager to represent the people of Pennsylvania’s 15th District.

Approximately 60 people attended the gathering at the new headquarters for this year’s election cycle, which had candidate signs and swag, voter registration, information about the implications of Project 2025, and more information about all the Democrats seeking office, including Erin McClelland (PA Treasurer), Malcolm Kenyatta (PA Auditor General), Eugene DePasquale (PA Attorney General), U.S. Senator Bob Casey, and Kamala Harris and Tim Walz (U.S. Presidential Ticket).

Brannan thanked everyone who came out to attend the event and said many great conversations were had amongst attendees.

“There are 81 days left until the November 5 election. Now, back to work!” she said.

Other leaders in the local party, including Clinton County Democratic Women President Debbie Meder and Mary Ann Clark, also spoke and encouraged attendees to get involved by joining the committee or women’s group, volunteering for local candidates, attending party events, or making a donation.

The 2024 Democratic Campaign HQ is located at 2 Millbrook Plaza Lane, Suite 105B, located between the Verizon store and Little Caesar’s Pizza. It is open 12 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 12 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, through Election Day on November 5.
