[Lock Haven, PA, January 14, 2021] – The Clinton County Democratic Committee is holding a food drive to benefit The Haven Cupboard from January 16-18 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr Day and the Annual Day of Service.
Donations will be collected at the following locations: Avenue 209, 209 Bellefonte Ave, Lock Haven; the residence at 28 S. Summit St, Lock Haven; the residence at 807 Park Avenue, Woolrich; and the Liberty Book Shop, 1 E. Park St, Avis. All donations are welcome but the items that are needed most are: pasta sauce, jelly, Hamburger Helper, mac and cheese, all kinds of spices including Salt and Pepper, cooking sprays/cooking oil, healthy snacks (individual packs of nuts, Kind Bars, etc.). Hygiene products needed are: laundry pods, paper towels, toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, razors, feminine hygiene items, after shave. Download the flyer!

The Haven Cupboard is a program that provides non-perishable food and personal items to current Lock Haven University students. They are located at the Beth Yehuda Synagogue, 320 W. Church St. Lock Haven. The Haven Cupboard is open on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students must have a valid ID to shop. You can find them on Facebook: @havencupboard.
MLK Day is observed each year on the third Monday in January as “a day on, not a day off.” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.
