ABOUT PETITIONS

Individuals seeking office must circulate petitions to collect signatures of people supporting their candidacy for office in order to be placed on the election ballot. These petitions must be circulated during a certain time frame, from February 19 to March 12 for the 2019 Primary Election. The petitions are filed with the county Election Office.
Those signing petitions must live in the respective municipality for municipal candidates and live in any Clinton County voting precinct to sign petitions for our county-wide offices. Individuals may sign two (2) petitions for county commissioner and two (2) petitions for Lock Haven City Council. For all other municipal and county positions, signers may only complete one petition per race. For Superior Court candidates, individuals may only sign two of the petitions, although there are currently four Democrats in that race.
