Clinton County Dems Kick Cancer

Clinton County Democrats looking for a way to give back to the community formed a Clinton County Relay For Life team in 2018 to help raise funds for people impacted by cancer.

That’s how “Clinton County Dems Kick Cancer” came about!

During Relay For Life, an annual fundraiser walk that benefits the American Cancer Society, teams come together for 6-24 hours. Team members take turns walking around a designated path the entire time.

“Cancer patients don’t stop because they’re tired, and for one night, neither do we,” explains the American Cancer Society website.

SATURDAY, MAY 3, 2025: Clinton County Relay For Life
Clinton County Relay For Life is a culmination event that brings together all of the county’s Relay For Life team for a day of celebration, commemoration and festival-style fundraising. It is a community event you do not want to miss.

ONGOING: Monthly Team Meetings
The Clinton County Dems Kick Cancer Relay For Life Team typically meets monthly. This is a great opportunity to meet other members and learn about goals for the team. Contact Roxanne Embick to be put on the contact list to receive regular updates.

Join the Clinton County Dems Kick Cancer Relay Team and help us in our mission to raise money for individuals impacted by cancer.

To join, click here and complete the online team member registration form!

Volunteers will have an opportunity to serve in one of the following capacities:

Social Media Team – Help manage the Clinton County Dems Kick Cancer Facebook page, set up related Facebook Events and keep the pages up to date with fundraising as needed
Procurement Team – Help lead the way in collecting donations of food, drinks, items for fundraisers, gift cards from Weis or Walmart to purchase needed items, etc.
Luminaria – All team members will be responsible for selling Luminaria to friends, family, co-workers, etc. Luminaria are the simple white bags, lighted from within, that are featured during a special ceremony during the Relay for Life Event. Luminaria honor loved ones surviving cancer and remember those who have lost the battle. Anyone may dedicate a Luminaria for just $10 here.
Relay – Join us at the Relay for Life event and help by taking turns walking the track. Show solidarity with team members and those affected by cancer in this tribute.

If you can’t join the team, consider making a donation (monetary or otherwise).

Our Team participates in used clothing drives and gift drives for Clinton County Relay for Life auction/fundraiser events.

A LASTING COMMITMENT

Since 2018, the Clinton County Dems Kick Cancer Relay For Life team has raised more than $23,000 for The American Cancer Society. The CCDKC were designated as the “Best New Team” by the American Cancer Society for our accomplishments in our first year as a Team! We’re proud of our contributions to help defeat cancer and make health care.
