On Saturday, April 5th, about 70 local people joined the national Hands Off event to peacefully protest the indiscriminate budget cuts, personnel firings, and disruption of services in many federal government programs.
People held signs stating Hands Off veterans’ services, cancer research, social security, Medicare, Medicaid, libraries, public lands, and many others.
This event was held to draw attention to the potential local impact of the haphazard, ill-conceived actions of Elon Musk’s DOGE.
Clinton County residents are encouraged to call Representative Glenn Thompson (202) 225-5121, Senator John Fetterman (202) 224-4254, and Senator David McCormick (202) 224-6324 to tell them to use their influence to say “Hands Off” to Elon Musk and DOGE.
